The Gene Doyle Memorial Foundation seeks Anglers and Fishing Teams for 17th Annual Fishing Tournament April 25-27, 2014
Proceeds will provide 3 Collier County Students with the ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’
The 17th Annual Gene Doyle Fishing Tournament will take place on April 25-27, 2014. Through this backcountry catch and release tournament, female and male youth and adult anglers will compete to catch redfish, snook and trout in guided or “open” divisions as well as chase the coveted Grand Champion Trophies. Winners will also be named for Most Unusual Catch, Best Photograph, and Trash Can Slam.
Proceeds from the tournament support the Gene Doyle Adventure Scholarship, which gives three Collier County high school students the chance to take the adventure of a lifetime either self designed or through structured programs such as Outward Bound. Since inception, the scholarship fund has sent 46 Collier County students packing – from the Appalachian trails, to the mountains and whitewaters of Alaska.
